“Bob did my deck and to say that it looks amazing is an understatement!
First of all, he listened to me when I described what I wanted. And that’s what he and his crew built. They were very hardworking, working through freezing weather in January. They made accommodations every day for my dogs to be able to get out of the back door and to the yard. This usually took extra time and I really appreciate them going the extra mile for me on that–I have two elderly beagles who would have been very upset to not be able to go outside.
I missed the workers once they were finished!
Originally, we just had a 12′ x 20′ concrete patio and we never spent time out there. I had an above-ground pool put in and it took up a lot of the yard. My husband was concerned that by putting the deck 14 feet out plus another 2 feet for the step that it would take up even more. But, even he sees that having enough room on the deck makes it so that we spend more time out there.
I spend whole days out there now.
Bob knew just the right dimensions for it to be a great space. My backyard is now almost 500 sf of outdoor living! There is ample space for a table and chairs around it, an umbrella, pots and pots of flowers and plants. And it flows well into the rest of the yard.
Before settling on Decks by all Means, I had a few other companies out but they couldn’t see beyond just doing a cookie-cutter deck. This is truly what I wanted. It was expensive but it was more than worth it!
Having a deck with nice wide steps that run the length makes it so that you can decorate any way you wish making it a wonderful outdoor room!”

“In 2014 we had Bob come to give us a quote on adding a sunroom to our home in Chapel Hill. The project started in late fall. He did an outstanding job and his workmanship was excellent. He made sure we got exactly what we wanted and followed our request that the attached room would not go into the roof! He and his crew worked in freezing weather every day. He was slightly less than the other quotes we got but our biggest reason for choosing him was he listened to our suggestions and incorporated them into the project. “Bob and his 4 guys built a 12X16 screened porch with a 12×20 deck attached last year and I couldn’t be more pleased. His price was in line with the other builders I talked to, but the difference was that he had great ideas for a unique design and had lots of little “built-ins” and upgrades like benches with seats that open for storage, night lighting embedded and a little alcove to hold the grille on the deck. He was friendly, conscientious, and professional. They showed up on time, they were professional, and finished on time. They cleaned up after they left. I might add that I exhausted his references before I agreed to do business and every person I spoke to was positive about him. I can’t imagine they would do a poor job for anyone as he has been around for years.”
